Rock Lake Tournament on 5-19-2012 for Anglers Choice
We held the first tournament of the 7 to qualify for the Anglers Choice Tournament of Champions.  Taking first place honors are Dave VanErt and Rick Hanfler.  They reported catching most of the 14lbs early in the morning with bedding smallmouth.  The 2nd place team of Dale Pavey and his brother also found most of the weight with 4 smallmouth on beds early but needed one small largemouth to fill out a limit.  In 3rd place was the new team of Gary and Mike.  Rock Lake played tough today but will show its true colors when we visit it again later this year.  You can view full results and pictures at the Tournament Director tab above.

Kentucky Lake Everstart Tournament 5/13/2012
The two pictures below tell you the story.  After Day 1 I was in 7th place with over 16lbs.  Day 1 was full of fish and big fish which related to big chunk rock really well.  Day 2 the fish left and did not relate to anything that I could find.  The fish scattered and I only managed 5 bites all day but only boated 2 of them.  Those 2 fish weigh 6 pounds and brought me down to 54th place.  Looking back at the tournament I wish I could have boated more fish the 2nd day but I did get the bites I needed.  The tournament did help me move into 16th place overall in the Angler of the Year points which is the man goal to stay in the top 40.

Day 1 fish.   2 big ones

Day 2 fish - 1 big one

Hit Buffalo Lake before heading to Kentucky Lake 5/4/2012
I took my buddy Matthew to Buffalo lake with DCL in hand.  We hammered the bass all day long.  When we caught one we put the power pole down and caught a few more.  Now I'm heading to Kentucky Lake for the Everstart tournament and then strait to Lacrosse for the first BFL on the Mississippi River.

Fox Chain Anglers Choice
4/24/2012
I went out to fish the 1st Anglers choice tournament of the year.  My son wanted to come with so we set out on a slow pace to our first spot.  To my surprise Dylan wanted to fish all day and after 8 hours was still not ready to come in.  We both caught some fish but only one that was a keeper.  Dylan really loved trying to skip docks.  Although for him its was more like slapping a worm under the dock.  It worked for him as he caught and missed fish and was excited all day.  Next up I need to prefish for the first BFL in Lacrosse and go down to Kentucky Lake for the next Everstart tournament.

1st Everstart Central Division Tournament 4/6/2012
The tournament was rescheduled after the Table Rock Tornado to Bull Shoals Arkansas.  I have never been down and had two days to prefish.  With the unusual warm weather they are having I figured the fish would be shallow looking to spawn early this year.  The full moon was coming and the bass should be close to the bank.  I found that the high water left a lot of bushes in the lake and I started pin pointing which stretch of bushes was productive.  My pattern became the very back of marinas with bushes in the them.  I caught just over 10lbs on day 1 manly on a frog skipping under the bushes.  Then on day two I fished mostly a wacky worm on the outside of the bushes as the water level was dropping a few inches.  Day 2 gave way to just over 11lbs for a total over 21 lbs.  I'm looking to qualify for the championship at the end of the year and this top 40 finish got me on the right path to do that.  The next Everstart tournament is next month on Kentucky Lake which I hope the bass will be on a similar pattern but perhaps just finishing up the spawn.

Anglers Choice Championship 3/12/2012
I was on Lake Guntersville in Alabama for the Anglers Choice championship.  My boat was in pieces but still running so I did the best I could.  Practice was tough and I did not locate a lot of fish.  I did find areas I knew the fish was going to come to soon so I took a chance and the fish came in over night before the first day.  I caught 17.3 lbs on day one which put me in 60th place going into day 2.  Day 2 the temps dropped and I tried to move out with the fish but I just could not get the bigger bites needed.  Ill be getting the boat fixed up now after the tornado and buying a new truck after my truck was totalled.

First Everstart Tournament Cancelled Do to Tornado 2/29/2012
I was on Table Rock Lake for one day prefishing and the first night a tornado came through about 2:00am.  Everyone staying at the resort had damage to truck and or boat.  As you can see from the pictures I lost the windows on my truck and the trolling motor off my boat.  Unfortunately the tournament docks and marina were also lost along with almost every room at the Kimberling Inn that I stayed at at.  Every Room was covered in glass.  I was looking forward to the College Fishing tournament after the Everstart tournament on Table Rock however that is cancelled also.  Next event in the Everstart is on Kentucky Lake however first I am heading to Guntersville next week for the Anglers Choice Championship.  Need to get everything fixed and ready.
